Apple created history, shipped 8,100 crore iPhones from India to abroad in 1 month 

Apple has become the first company to export smartphones worth a billion dollars (Rs 8,100 million) to India in a month. The iPhone maker plans to set this record in December 2022. According to statistics, India's mobile industry exported cell phones for a value of over Rs 10,000 million in December. Apple and Samsung (Samsung) are the major companies for exporting cell phones to India. In November, Apple beat Samsung as the top exporter of cell phones, according to government officials. Next, Apple exported cell phones worth a billion dollars in December.  

These iPhones are Made in India. 

Apple manufactures and exports the iPhone 12, 13, 14 and 14+ models in India through its three contract manufacturers. Apart from these three manufacturers, some smaller Indian exporters have also reported iPhone exports from India. Officials gave this information. 

Here are the factory facilities 

Apple's contract manufacturers Foxconn and Pegatron have factories in Tamil Nadu. While Wistron's facilities are in Karnataka. It has participated in the government's Smartphone Manufacturing Incentive (PLI) scheme. The plan was sent off in April 2020.

Phones worth $9 billion to be exported in FY2023

All three producers are required to report production, export, investment and employment data to the government from time to time as participants in the PLI program. The government estimates that mobile phone exports from India are expected to be around $9 billion in FY2023. This is much higher than the $5.8 billion a year ago. This would be possible by increasing the production and shipping of artifacts.

 According to officials, the iPhone leads the government's ambitious PLI plans when it reaches $1 billion of exports a month. The PLI scheme was introduced in 13 sectors. Officials said that if Samsung's establishment had worked to all capacity, cell phone exports could have gone even higher. Officials also said that the main production unit of the South Korean veteran company was closed for 10-15 days due to routine maintenance. This reduced its production and exports.
